A sensational concert by the renowned African Children's Choir attracted a massive audience, estimated at around 750 strong, which packed into Alyth Parish Church on Sunday 12th June 2005. Just a month into a six month tour of the UK and hot foot from a concert in Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall the evening before, the 25 orphaned children aged from seven to eleven years moved and mesmerised the audience with their singing and dancing in a mixture of African and western styles. A staggering £5,300 was collected during the interval for the choir and its Music for Life projects in various parts of Africa.
